A few years ago, I was in a bookstore, flipping through a stack of journals. I had recently lost my beloved mother and I was desperate for something—anything—that could help me feel more connected, more anchored, more myself again.

But nothing felt right.

Nothing was aesthetically beautiful (I do love pretty things, after all!).

Nothing had Jewish quotes or values that actually resonated with me — as a modern Jewish woman juggling grief, work, motherhood, oat lattes, WhatsApp chats (for the good and for the bad), and a very real desire for something deeper.

And nothing combined spirituality and style in a way that truly spoke to me — or felt meaningful and fresh.

I left without buying anything. But the idea stuck.

What if Jewish products could be soul-nourishing, uplifting, and beautifully designed?

From not fitting in… to creating a whole movement

I’m Karen Cinnamon — and for most of my life, I never quite felt like I belonged. Not fully in Jewish spaces. Not fully outside them either. So I started building what I couldn’t find: spaces where Jewish women could show up as their full selves — proud, connected, empowered, stylish — without judgment or boxes to squeeze into.

That journey led me to create Smashing The Glass, the world’s biggest Jewish wedding platform.
